Webmaster's Information on Search Topics

This page will provide information on topics submitted to the site search engine when the information is not available anywhere else on the site.

Term: Constitution
The Constitution and By-Laws of The American Legion Department of Mexico are now posted on this web site.
Printed copies are regularly handed-out at meetings of the DEC and at the Annual Convention. If your Post does not have a copy, it probably means that neither your Commander nor your Post's DECman are attending meetings. .. .. .. and maybe you should stand for election so that your Post can be represented at the Department level.

Term: Insurance
The American Legion offers a number of insurance products to its members who reside in the United States.
American insurance companies can not write life insurance on individuals who do not reside within the USA.
If a member has an address in the USA, then the Legion's term life product can be sold to the member.

Domestic Departments have to opportunity to sell their membership list to the official carrier of The American Legion (but not to other companies) and in exchange for receiving the member addresses, the carrier writes a $1,000 term life policy on each of the members of that Department.

Not every Department participates in this sale of member data. The Department of Mexico cannot participate because of where the majority of our members live outside of the U.S.A.

Apart from this program by which a Department may sell its member data, there is NO free insurance available to Legionnaires.
